Mosaic Arts Online is thrilled to have professional sculptor and professor, Maria Sarmiento, here to work with “Pal Tiya,” a unique and easy to use concrete-clay like sculpture material. Maria Sarmiento shares all of her experience and knowledge for creating a variety of sculptures that can be used for one of a kind mosaic art substrates.
Pal Tiya material does not require a mold or a kiln. You will learn how to apply Pal Tiya to simple and easily accessed materials in order to create abstract shapes, animals, and other pieces. You will even learn to use Pal Tiya to transform small objects into life size materials.
In this online course, Sarmiento uses a snail as the subject for demonstrating three different methods for creating an object. There are different ways to build forms with Pal Tiya, and she gives tips and techniques for using each one.
Pal Tiya is a proprietary blend of materials, and if used properly it is incredibly strong and versatile. With Pal Tiya you will no longer need extra muscle to lift your concrete sculptures but you will be able to mosaic them with ease. Pal Tiya is an exterior and interior grade product that can withstand extreme temperatures.
Sarmiento will guide you through the step by step process, and describe the tools necessary to create with Pal Tiya. Next, she will show you how to create three different forms of a snail using a variety of core materials. This will allow you to choose the appropriate one for your piece. Once you have your form, she will show you the proper mixing instructions for Pal Tiya. This unique material acts like concrete, but works and feels more like clay. These properties make it very easy to mold and shape.
Pal Tiya comes in two different quantities, and can be ordered from the website supplied on the PDF with the tools, materials, resources.
Once you have learned how to create your sculptures, Maria will then demonstrate a few “do’s and don'ts” for creating your mosaic with a variety of tesserae on a 3D object. She does not complete a mosaic art project in this course, but she will inspire you to create your own. This product is so versatile, that you can even add new layers at any time without additives.
This is the product for you to learn more about If you are looking for a way to use a lightweight concrete-like material. The course comes with a full downloadable PDF detailing the tools, materials, and resources you will need including the website for ordering your Pal Tiya.
