Have you ever wondered how to incorporate letters or words into your mosaic art work? Are you interested in finding ways to create letters that are stylized, proportionate, and cut with precision? If you are looking for the best way to add words and numbers to your mosaic art, then this is the course for you.
Mark Brody is sharing his unique and successful approach to lettering in mosaic art through many easy and achievable techniques. “Mosaic Lettering A to Z” is a great course for using different fonts from the very simple to the more detailed and expressive. Mark will demonstrate his step-by-step process for creating words in mosaic art on three separate projects.
In this course you will learn:
- How to use a grid for setting simple square tiles to create words
- How to choose the best color values to have your words stand out
- How to choose the best fonts for visual effect
- How to set the letters for the best kerning or proportionate spacing
- How to choose the best substrates and materials for lettering
- How to cut the tesserae into shapes that will keep your letters clean and readable
- How to create movement around the letters so your background has flow and balance
Each project in this course is designed to take you through the simple to the more advanced steps in the process. Each project is created in glass squares (or stained glass), which is Mark’s preferred choice of materials. You can create your projects with any material you like and still learn all of Mark’s techniques and achieve success.
Mark also shares his love for calligraphy and gives a quick and simple lesson for how to write some letters in this old world style of lettering.
This course comes with a PDF for download of all the tools, materials, and resources to get started.
"I am excited to get started and create my first sign with all of your great techniques. Thank you for sharing this course with Mosaic Arts Online." Julie F.

Mosaic for me has been an exploration of color, pattern and placement. I find that mosaic has very few limits; there are so many materials to collect, combine and explore.
Although I have been practicing other art mediums for many years,
I believe that mosaic is a very good teacher because it has allowed my style to emerge with every piece I lay.
